In a major political development just months ahead of the crucial Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP and senior Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) leader Sanjay Raut has announced that he will temporarily step away from public life for the next two months due to health reasons.

Raut, known as one of Uddhav Thackeray’s most trusted aides and a key strategist within the MVA, revealed his decision through a heartfelt message to party workers and supporters shared on X (formerly Twitter). In the note, he explained that his health had deteriorated suddenly, and doctors had advised him to take complete rest.

“You all have always believed in me and loved me, but now suddenly there has been a serious deterioration in my health. Treatment is underway, I will come out of this soon,” Raut wrote.

The Rajya Sabha MP was recently admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mulund, Mumbai, after complaining of uneasiness. Sources indicate that although Raut had undergone routine medical tests earlier, his condition took an unexpected turn for the worse, prompting doctors to recommend a complete break from his demanding political schedule.

His temporary withdrawal has created a noticeable void in the MVA camp, especially at a time when the alliance is gearing up for one of Mumbai’s most politically significant elections. Party leaders and supporters across the state have expressed their concern and extended best wishes for his speedy recovery.
