Satish Salian, the father of late Disha Salian, is set to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding his daughter’s controversial death. According to Salian’s lawyer, Nilesh Ojha, the meeting will involve presenting crucial evidence related to the case and urging Shah to personally intervene in the matter.
In a statement to the media on Tuesday, Ojha revealed that the closure report filed on February 24, 2021, had been officially recalled. He accused certain individuals of spreading a misleading narrative about the case, adding that the CBI had never taken up an investigation into Disha Salian’s tragic death. “We have substantial and additional evidence, but for now, we cannot disclose it as it might impact the ongoing case,” Ojha said.
The lawyer further leveled serious accusations against former Mumbai Commissioner of Police, Parambir Singh. Ojha stated that Disha Salian’s death was not a suicide, as reported, but a murder. He claimed that the police had deliberately tried to cover up the murder by misclassifying it as suicide, an assertion Ojha said was part of a larger pattern under Singh's leadership.
Ojha also accused Singh of attempting to silence internal police dissenters, alleging that during his tenure, murder cases were routinely labeled as suicides. The lawyer added that they possess video recordings of ACP Kadam, who is a close associate of Singh, which could shed light on this conspiracy. Furthermore, Ojha accused the former commissioner of framing ex-ACPs Nipunje and Ghadage in false cases because they opposed Singh’s alleged corruption.
