A suspected grenade attack rocked a Hindu temple in Amritsar’s Khandawala area in the early hours of Saturday, triggering panic among locals and raising security concerns. The explosion was so powerful that it shattered windows of nearby buildings, though no casualties have been reported.
According to eyewitnesses, two unidentified assailants arrived on a motorcycle, which bore a flag, and hurled an explosive object inside the Thakur Dwara Mandir at approximately 12:30 a.m. A loud blast followed, sending shockwaves through the neighborhood. Senior police officials rushed to the scene after receiving the information.

"Pakistan's ISI lures our youth into creating disturbances in Punjab. We are analyzing CCTV footage and gathering forensic evidence. I urge the youth not to ruin their lives by getting influenced. We will trace the culprits within days," Bhullar told ANI.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann also pointed toward Pakistan’s involvement, linking it to the increasing drone infiltrations from across the border. "Drones are coming from Pakistan, but I assure the people of Punjab that the state remains safe. Our police are solving these cases swiftly," Mann stated.
Temple Blast Confirmed as Grenade Attack
Advocate Kiranpreet Singh, citing evidence from the scene, confirmed the use of a grenade in the attack. "At around 12 a.m., two men on a bike stopped outside the temple, conducted a recce, and then threw a grenade. The blast caused extensive damage, breaking nearby windows," he told PTI.
Authorities are treating the incident as a terror-related attack, and a massive manhunt has been launched to track down the assailants. Security has been heightened in Amritsar, with forensic teams analyzing the blast site for further leads.
