The INDIA bloc has put its full weight behind Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, declaring him the clear Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. His appointment as the head of the bloc’s coordination committee has further solidified his position within the alliance.
RJD MP Manoj Jha stated that Tejashwi Yadav’s leadership is not just accepted but unanimously endorsed across the alliance. Highlighting Tejashwi’s performance during his brief stint as Deputy Chief Minister, Jha noted his track record in job creation and implementation of welfare schemes.
The confidence in Tejashwi’s leadership was further echoed during a joint press conference attended by representatives from the Congress, CPI, CPI(M), CPI-ML, and Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), all of whom agreed that the young RJD leader is the face of the Grand Alliance in Bihar.
Tejashwi’s leadership during the 2020 Assembly polls saw RJD emerge as the single largest party with 75 seats. His efforts in governance and his appeal among youth voters are being cited as key factors in the bloc’s unified decision to project him as their CM face.
While some interpreted Congress leader Krishna Allavaru’s recent remarks as hesitant, RJD spokesperson Mritunjay Tiwari clarified that there is no ambiguity within the alliance. “There is complete clarity in the Mahagathbandhan. Tejashwi is not just leading the coordination; he is leading the political vision of the alliance in Bihar,” he said.
