Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar on Friday criticized the BJP and the Election Commission, emphasizing the need for fairness in the upcoming Bihar elections.
“The Election Commission is coming to Bihar. This is an election year, and it is the Election Commission's responsibility to conduct fair elections. However, we have not received any answers to the questions we have been repeatedly asking the Election Commission. There should be an impartial review of whether the names of those who have been removed are genuine voters. There should be a time limit for adding the names of those who have been wrongly removed,” Kumar said.
Addressing remarks made by Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi during his Colombia visit, Kumar accused the BJP of misrepresenting Gandhi’s words. “They simply want to remain in power by abusing the Congress Party, distorting Rahul Gandhi's statements, and spreading lies about Jawaharlal Nehru and India's history. The BJP is unable to understand Rahul Gandhi's words. The country is understanding Rahul Gandhi's words, so the BJP is making absurd statements out of desperation,” he added.
