Congress leader Vijay Namdevrao Wadettiwar has strongly criticized the government's handling of the recent Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 27 people, mostly tourists. Speaking from Nagpur, Wadettiwar raised serious concerns about the lack of security and the government’s failure to prevent the tragic incident.
"The responsibility for Pahalgam should lie with the government. In the Pahalgam incident, where 27 lives were lost, why was there no security? Why were they allowed to enter? People came from over 200 kilometers and breached the area. What was the government doing?" Wadettiwar questioned, pointing out what he perceives as glaring lapses in security that led to the attack.
He further emphasized that despite the loss of lives, the government has failed to acknowledge its responsibility. "This is a clear failure on the government's part, but no one talks about it," he said.
Addressing the issue of terrorism, Wadettiwar remarked that some individuals have tried to downplay the incident, but he reaffirmed his stance that "terrorists have no caste or religion." He added, "The focus should be on catching those responsible and taking action. This is what the country feels."
