NCP–Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP–SCP) leader Anil Deshmukh has taken aim at the Maharashtra government over the execution of the Ladki Bahin Scheme, specifically its exclusion of women government employees. Criticizing the lack of transparency in the announcement, Deshmukh said, "When Maharashtra government took the decision of initiating the scheme, they should have announced it is not for government employees... They should have investigated earlier..."
The Ladki Bahin Scheme, designed to provide financial aid to women from low-income families, has been under scrutiny after it was revealed that women employed in government services are not eligible. Deshmukh emphasized that such exclusions should have been declared upfront to avoid confusion and disappointment among potential beneficiaries.
He also commented on the frequent appearances of Sharad Pawar and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar together, fueling ongoing political speculation. However, Deshmukh downplayed any formal reconciliation between the two factions of the NCP, stating, "They both attend a lot of meetings together... There is no mention of both parties coming together yet..."
