Ahead of Holi, the Uttar Pradesh Police has issued strict guidelines, stating that no new traditions should be allowed during the celebrations. The directive emphasizes that all festivals must be observed as per existing customs, and authorities must identify and take preventive action against anti-social elements in advance.

After reviewing past disputes related to Holi, the police have called for increased vigilance to prevent any disturbances. In light of this, security measures across the state have been significantly tightened, with district administrations putting elaborate arrangements in place.

In Sambhal, District Magistrate Rajendra Pensia outlined the extensive security measures, stating that 16 processions will be taken out, and peace committee meetings have been held in every locality and village. Two district-level meetings have also been conducted to ensure coordination. A total of 27 quick response teams have been formed, and the city has been divided into six zones and 29 sectors, with magistrates and police officers deployed in each area. SHOs and magistrates have been directed to patrol hotspots, while PAC battalions have been stationed for three-tier security. Over 250 CCTV cameras have been installed, with an additional 100-150 units placed in key areas. Drone surveillance has been conducted and will be repeated to monitor activities, and a flag march was carried out under the leadership of the DIG.

Holi celebrations in Sambhal began on Monday with Rangbhari Ekadashi, a festival observed five days before Holi, held under strict security arrangements. In anticipation of the upcoming Holi on March 14, which coincides with the Friday prayers during the holy month of Ramzan, a peace committee meeting was held at Sambhal Kotwali police station on March 6.

Sambhal Circle Officer Anuj Kumar Chaudhary urged people to respect religious sensitivities, stating that those uncomfortable with colours should remain indoors. He remarked that Holi is celebrated once a year, while Friday prayers occur 52 times a year, suggesting that members of the Muslim community who do not wish to participate should stay inside to avoid any potential conflicts.
