After intense missile exchanges, diplomatic confusion, and rising global anxiety, Tehran has officially announced a ceasefire following four waves of missile attacks that left at least four dead in Israel.
The chain of events began in the early hours of Tuesday, when U.S. President Donald Trump took to his platform Truth Social to declare what he called a "complete and total ceasefire" between Iran and Israel. The announcement sent shockwaves through the international community, coming just two days after he had authorized strikes on Iran’s underground nuclear facilities in a move dubbed “Operation Midnight Hammer.”
Trump claimed the ceasefire would roll out in phases — Iran first, Israel later — and take full effect within 24 hours. However, almost immediately, Iranian officials denied any agreement had been reached. The back-and-forth created widespread uncertainty.
Despite the denial, Iranian missile attacks on Israel continued, with Tel Aviv confirming that four people were killed and six others injured in strikes that occurred after Trump's announcement. Yet by mid-morning, Iranian state-run media confirmed that military operations had concluded and a ceasefire was in effect.
