Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday delivered a strong statement on the state’s ongoing campaign against illegal land encroachments. Speaking to reporters during his visit to Nainital, Dhami said the government would continue its crackdown without hesitation, linking the issue to what he called “land jihad.”
“Should such encroachers have a place in Dev Bhoomi? Should we stop taking action against them?” the Chief Minister asked, stressing that the state would not allow illegal occupation of land in the name of religion or any other motive.
Dhami said the administration has intensified its operations across districts, and several teams are working daily to identify, mark and clear areas that have been encroached upon for years. According to him, the results are already visible.
“Our government is taking strict measures against land jihad, and so far, we have freed over 10,000 acres of land from these land jihadists,” he added, describing it as one of the strongest actions taken by the state so far.
