In a sharp political escalation, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Friday launched a fierce attack on the Narendra Modi-led central government, following the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) decision to file a chargesheet against Robert Vadra, businessman and husband of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

Taking to social media platform X, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha wrote, “My brother-in-law has been hounded by this government for the last ten years. This latest chargesheet is a continuation of that witch hunt.” He further expressed solidarity with his family, stating, “I stand with Robert, Priyanka and their children as they face yet another onslaught of malicious, politically motivated slander and harassment... The truth will eventually prevail.”

The Enforcement Directorate filed the chargesheet on Thursday in connection with a money laundering investigation tied to alleged irregularities in a land deal in Shikohpur, Haryana. According to news agency reports, the chargesheet marks the first instance where Robert Vadra has been formally named by any central investigative agency in a criminal case.

The ED has also reportedly attached 43 immovable properties located across Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Gujarat, amounting to over ₹37.64 crore. These assets are said to be associated with Vadra and entities like Sky Light Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., according to sources cited by News Agency.
