Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has lashed out at the BJP over their claims regarding the alleged attacker of actor Saif Ali Khan, who was reportedly attacked in Mumbai. The Mumbai Police have speculated that the assailant might be Bangladeshi, which has fueled further controversy, with the BJP suggesting it could be part of an international conspiracy.
Raut, in his response to the BJP's statements, questioned, “Who is saying he is a Bangladeshi? The BJP? They are claiming that the attack on Saif Ali Khan is an international conspiracy. What is this supposed conspiracy? An actor has been attacked, and people deserve to know the truth.”
The MP went a step further, asserting that if the attacker is indeed Bangladeshi, then the responsibility lies with the central government, specifically Amit Shah. He demanded that the Home Minister resign over the matter. “If he is a Bangladeshi, then the central government is responsible. It is Amit Shah’s responsibility, and he should resign… All Bangladeshis should be removed, starting with Sheikh Hasina, who has been given asylum,” Raut said.
Raut also accused the BJP of creating fear around the issue ahead of the Mumbai municipal elections, claiming it was a deliberate move to manipulate public sentiment. “They are only creating fear because of the upcoming municipal elections. When we wanted to speak against Bangladeshis in Parliament, the BJP stopped us citing international ties,” he added.
In a striking remark, Raut drew attention to the BJP’s double standards regarding Saif Ali Khan, especially regarding the actor’s son, Taimur Ali Khan. “Ten days ago, they accused Saif Ali Khan of Love Jihad, and now they are worried about him. His son's name is Taimur. Their people spoke ill about him as well. Now, PM Modi has gained the information, and now Taimur is a symbol of love for them.”
