Sanjay Raut’s Jail Book Rattles Shiv Sena Camp; MLA Sirsat Alleges ‘Fabricated Stories’

A fresh political row has erupted within Maharashtra’s political circles after Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut released his book titled ‘Narakatala Swarg’. The book, which reportedly chronicles Raut’s time in jail and claims regarding political events, has been criticised by rival leaders for presenting “fabricated stories.”

Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Shirsat, a member of the Eknath Shinde-led faction, strongly objected to the contents of the book, questioning its authenticity and intent.

“After spending time in jail, Sanjay Raut wrote a book titled Narakatala Swarg, in which he tried to create fabricated stories. Balasaheb Thackeray, whether helping Amit Shah or PM Modi, never boasted about it or spoke openly; helping others quietly was his nature. But Sanjay Raut scripted a story...” said Shirsat, calling the book a politically motivated narrative rather than a factual account.

Shirsat further alleged that Raut is attempting to “rewrite” Shiv Sena’s legacy to suit his personal agenda, especially in the post-split political landscape where the Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde factions continue to clash over ideological and symbolic claims.
