As part of India's global diplomatic blitz following Operation Sindoor, BJP leader Bansuri Swaraj, speaking in the UAE, hailed the Indian armed forces' valour and called on the Indian diaspora to act as a “brahmastra” in countering Pakistan’s narrative. She was addressing members of the Indian community during the all-party delegation's outreach led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Eknath Shinde.
Speaking passionately, Swaraj said, “Sindoor is now a new synonym for justice, strength, because of the valour shown by the Indian armed forces.” She thanked the diaspora for their integral role in strengthening India-UAE ties and urged them to act as torchbearers for India’s message on terrorism. “Spread the truth — to your communities, your workplaces, your places of worship, your homes — that India was not the aggressor,” she declared.
Referring to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, Swaraj condemned it as “a barbaric attack on our faith, on our existence.” She stated, “We gave a befitting reply, striking nine terrorist bases. But Pakistan, instead of joining the global war on terror, chose to escalate militarily. If you are going to bring war to our door, then we are going to finish it.”
She added that India's response reflected "tremendous restraint, tremendous maturity,” even as Pakistan targeted sacred Indian sites in retaliation.
Joining the address, Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde emphasized India’s pushback against misinformation campaigns. “Negativity spreads faster than positivity. But we are tackling this,” Shinde said. He noted that the ongoing 13-14 day outreach effort would “change the perspective and narrative and the false propaganda which Pakistan is spreading,” stressing that truth, no matter how suppressed, “can’t be silenced.”
The UAE is the first stop on a four-nation tour for this all-party delegation. Along with Shinde and Swaraj, the group includes ET Mohmd Basheer, Atul Garg, Sasmit Patra, Manan Kumar Mishra, BJP leader Surendrajeet Singh Ahluwalia, and former Ambassador Sujan Chinoy.
