In a fiery press conference, BJP MP Sambit Patra launched a no-holds-barred attack on the Congress leadership, accusing them of lowering the morale of the Indian Army and parroting narratives that align more with Pakistan than with India's national interest.

“There was a time when terrorists were called to the PMO... We should also remember the day when Sonia ji cried after seeing the bodies of terrorists,” Patra said, in a sharp jab at the UPA era, invoking past incidents he claimed showcased the Congress's weak stance on national security.

Patra praised the Indian Army’s response to terrorism and emphasized India’s decisive retaliation post-terror attacks. “The Indian Army destroyed nine terrorist hideouts. Satellite pictures were shown. DGMO presented all the facts,” he asserted.

He targeted Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh, and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over their recent comments regarding the Indian Air Force and Rafale jets. “Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh, Revanth Reddy are asking how many Rafales were shot down. ‘Yeh jo Pakistan ke Babbar hain, woh Hindustan ke Gabbar hain’,” Patra said, twisting the popular film dialogue to suggest Congress leaders are echoing Pakistan’s line.

“Rahul Gandhi did not ask how many Pakistani airbases were destroyed, how many terrorists were killed; rather, he only asked how many Indian planes were shot down,” Patra added, accusing Congress of prioritizing political narratives over national interest.

In a scathing critique of the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra-style campaign, Patra remarked, “Your ‘Jai Hind Yatra’ looks like ‘Pakistan’s Hind Yatra’. You should stop this yatra and hold a joint press conference with Pakistan.”

He also slammed Jairam Ramesh for allegedly equating Indian MPs with terrorists. “Jairam Ramesh, who is the right-hand of the Gandhi family, gives a statement saying that terrorists are roaming around and MPs are also roaming around. You have equated terrorists with MPs. MPs did not go on a tour; they went to strongly present India’s side in the world, and your MPs were a part of it too,” he said.

Highlighting international support for India’s military capabilities, Patra referred to an article by U.S. military expert John Spencer titled “India won tech war, Pakistan lost as China’s proxy”, and said, “Made in India technologies helped the Indian forces gain victory over terrorism.”

Ending his attack, Patra said, “Every country in the world now sees India positively. But it is sad that the Congress, from day one, did not stand with the government. Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh, Revanth Reddy—all of them have consistently questioned the bravery of our Indian Army.”
