Tejashwi warns Of A Strong Response If Vote-Counting Is Rigged; Says 'People Of Bihar Will Not Allow' Attack On Democracy

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday warned that any attempt to manipulate vote counting in the Bihar elections would draw a forceful public reaction, saying democratic institutions would not be allowed to be undermined.

Speaking at a press conference in Patna, Tejashwi said, “If there is any fraud during vote counting this time, the public will give a strong response. Flag marches will achieve nothing. If anyone tries to destroy democracy, the people of Bihar will not allow it.” He delivered the remarks as parties and voters headed into the counting phase of the polls.

Tejashwi’s comments come amid heightened tensions around voter-list revision and electoral transparency in several states this season. Opposition leaders have repeatedly warned against alleged irregularities and have urged the Election Commission for safeguards; the counting day has been flagged by parties as a sensitive moment for ensuring voter will is respected.
