The Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) led by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress unveiled its much-awaited manifesto, ‘Bihar Ka Tejashwi Pran’, on Tuesday, setting the tone for the high-stakes Bihar Assembly elections 2025. The document, described as a “resolve” rather than mere promises, outlines the alliance’s ambitious plan to “rebuild and rejuvenate” Bihar under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav.

The manifesto was launched in the presence of Tejashwi Yadav, Deputy CM candidate and Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani, Congress leader Pawan Khera, and CPI(ML) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya.

Calling the ruling NDA’s assurances “empty jumlas”, Congress leader Pawan Khera said,

“The Mahagathbandhan was the first to announce its Chief Ministerial candidate and also the first to release its manifesto. Theirs is a ‘jumla’, ours is a ‘pran’ (resolve). This shows who truly cares about Bihar.”

Key Promises in ‘Bihar Ka Tejashwi Pran’

The Grand Alliance has laid out a 10-point roadmap focusing on social justice, economic empowerment, and inclusive growth:

Monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500 for women from economically weaker households.

Free medical treatment up to ₹25 lakh for all citizens under the ‘Healthy Bihar’ initiative.

Land allotment of 3–5 dismil to landless families to promote housing and dignity.

Creation of 10 lakh new government jobs within the first year of the alliance coming to power.

Regularisation of contractual workers across various departments.

Modernisation of education and health infrastructure, with special focus on rural schools and hospitals.

Agriculture reforms, including better MSP implementation and irrigation expansion.

Skill development and youth entrepreneurship fund to tackle unemployment.

Free electricity up to 200 units for all domestic consumers.

Comprehensive social security coverage for senior citizens, differently-abled persons, and single women.

Speaking at the event, Tejashwi Yadav challenged the NDA to reveal its vision and CM face, saying,

“We have given a roadmap, a vision, and a face. Now the NDA must tell people who their CM will be and what they will do for Bihar. They only indulge in negativity and allegations, while we talk about progress.”

The Mahagathbandhan comprises the RJD, Congress, CPI(ML), CPI, CPM, and VIP, while the NDA alliance includes BJP, JD(U), LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM(S), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha.
