‘The Pain Has Turned Into Flames’: Tej Pratap Backs Sister Rohini, Warns Of ‘Severe Consequences’ Over Family Rift

RJD founder Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, has come out strongly in defence of his sister Rohini Acharya after her explosive allegations against the family created a political and emotional storm. Rohini, who recently severed ties with her relatives, claimed she was unfairly blamed for the Rashtriya Janata Dal’s heavy defeat in the Bihar elections and even faced the threat of being struck with a slipper.

Reacting with visible anger, Tej Pratap posted a strongly worded statement online, saying he could no longer remain silent. “I endured everything that happened to me, but the humiliation my sister faced is absolutely intolerable,” he said, drawing parallels to the period when he himself was distanced from both the family and the party by his father.

Rohini left for Singapore on Saturday, insisting she had suffered harassment and mistreatment at the hands of those close to the family. Tej Pratap said the recent developments had “deeply shaken” him and warned that the people of Bihar would not forgive those responsible.

He expressed particular outrage at Rohini’s claim that a slipper had been raised at her. “Ever since I heard that a slipper was raised at my sister Rohini, the pain in my heart has turned into flames. When public emotions are wounded, even the dust settles from clouded judgment. A few individuals have misled Tejashwi as well,” he said.

In what many interpreted as a sharp warning to those he believes are behind the tensions, Tej Pratap sought his father’s permission to act. “The consequences of this injustice will be severe. Time’s judgment is unforgiving. I appeal to my father and political guru, Lalu Prasad Yadav—just give me a signal. The people of Bihar will themselves deal with these ‘Jaichands.’ This fight is not political; it is about family honour, a daughter’s dignity, and the self-respect of Bihar,” he declared.
