Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu on Monday assured that the investigation into the AI-171 crash in Ahmedabad will be conducted fairly and transparently by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB). Addressing concerns raised by the public and families of the crew, Naidu emphasized, “There is no manipulation or dirty business happening in the investigation.” He further affirmed that the AIB operates with a clear and independent mandate and urged everyone to wait for the final report before drawing conclusions.

The assurance comes after pilot Sumeet Sabharwal's father alleged that officials were trying to attribute the crash to his son’s mental health.

In addition, the minister highlighted steps being taken to monitor and regulate airfares during the upcoming festive season, including Dussehra and Deepawali, ensuring that travelers are not burdened with excessive price hikes.
