In a bold move to ensure transparency and accountability in higher education, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered a state-wide probe into all universities and colleges to verify course recognition and admission processes. The directive aims to protect students from exploitation and ensure that educational institutions adhere to legal norms.
According to official instructions, special investigation teams comprising senior officers have been assigned in every district to scrutinize the functioning of colleges and universities. Institutions are required to declare all recognized courses through affidavits. Courses found to be unrecognized or operating illegally will face strict action, including the full refund of fees collected from students.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the probe is not just about procedural compliance, but also about student rights and educational integrity. The administration has mandated that a consolidated report be submitted within 15 days, under the direct supervision of the respective Divisional Commissioner.
