Unseasonal rain across several regions has brought much-needed relief from the intense heat, but it has also sparked worries among local farmers. The sudden downpour, coupled with strong winds, has caused significant damage to standing wheat, banana, and mango crops, threatening the livelihoods of many farmers.
A local resident shared his concerns, stating, "We’ve gotten relief from the heat, but along with that, the rainfall has caused significant problems for farmers since this is an agriculture-dominated area. Farmers are facing a lot of difficulties."
The unexpected weather pattern has left farmers struggling to cope with the consequences. Crops that were nearing harvest are now at risk of being severely affected, with reports of wheat crops being flattened and mango and banana plantations suffering from wind and water damage. The timing of the rains, which coincide with critical growing periods for these crops, has exacerbated the challenges.
