According to a report by ABP News, the confrontation happened against the backdrop of a letter that surfaced from BJP district president Sunil Singh and MLA Yogesh Verma, calling for the postponement of the local elections. The letter cited concerns over the election process, including alleged tampering with the voter list. However, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Sanjay Singh firmly rejected these requests, stating that the elections will proceed as planned.
?There have been accusations of irregularities, but we are ensuring that the elections are conducted fairly and without delay,? ADM Singh assured. The election, set to take place on October 14, is expected to see around 12,000 eligible shareholders casting their votes.
Tensions had already been running high ahead of the election, with allegations of some individuals tearing the voter list. The nomination process began on Wednesday, and candidates are expected to withdraw nominations by October 10. The final voter list and election symbols will be released on October 11, ahead of the voting day.
