Union Home Minister Amit Shah, addressing a state BJP convention in Shirdi on Sunday, stated that veteran politician Sharad Pawar?s politics of betrayal and treachery, practiced since 1978, was decisively ended by the BJP's historic win in the Maharashtra Assembly elections.

Shah said the BJP's massive victory reflected the people's rejection of the politics of dynasty and deceit, targeting both Sharad Pawar, leader of NCP (SP), and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray. He emphasized that this outcome highlighted the BJP?s commitment to establishing a stable and trustworthy government in the state.

A Blow to the Opposition

Drawing attention to cracks within the opposition INDI alliance, Shah remarked on the growing discord among its members in states like Delhi, West Bengal, Bihar, and Maharashtra. "The INDI alliance is witnessing a sharp decline. People have seen through their politics," he said.

He accused Sharad Pawar of initiating "daga-phatka" (betrayal and treachery) politics in Maharashtra, which, according to Shah, was rejected in the 2024 elections. Similarly, he asserted that Uddhav Thackeray?s politics of betrayal, referencing his split with the BJP, was firmly dismissed by voters.

BJP?s Historic Win

Shah highlighted that the BJP's triumph in Maharashtra is not just a regional victory but a moment of significant political transformation with far-reaching consequences. "This historic win has shattered the confidence of the INDI alliance. It is a clear mandate for development and stability," he said.

He praised the leadership of the state BJP and the cadre's relentless efforts in securing the victory, adding that the party would continue to work for the welfare of Maharashtra?s people while upholding democratic principles.
