In his first public statement on X after the development, Chadha detailed the procedural steps behind the move and cited constitutional provisions to justify the decision.

“More Than Two-Thirds Have Merged With BJP”

Chadha posted:

“Today, exercising the provisions of the Constitution of India, more than two-thirds of the AAP MPs in the Rajya Sabha have merged with the BJP.”

He further added that formal documentation was submitted to the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha:

“Seven MPs have signed the document, which was submitted to the Hon’ble Chairman of the Rajya Sabha.”

Chadha also confirmed his direct involvement in the process:

“I, along with two other MPs, personally handed over the signed documents.”
