West Bengal Exit Polls Hint at Power Shift
With voting now over in West Bengal, exit poll projections suggest the BJP may be on course to unseat the ruling Trinamool Congress after a fiercely fought contest.
According to P-MARQ, the BJP is projected to win between 150 and 175 seats in the 294-member Assembly, while the TMC may secure 118 to 138 seats. Poll Diary also gives the BJP an advantage, estimating 142 to 171 seats for the party, while the TMC is projected to win between 99 and 127 seats.
Matrize also places the BJP ahead with 146 to 161 seats, while People’s Pulse offers a contrasting picture by projecting the TMC at 177 to 187 seats, indicating that the contest remains highly unpredictable.
Kerala Shows Signs of Congress Comeback
In Kerala, exit poll numbers suggest a close race, but the Congress-led UDF appears to have a slight edge over the ruling LDF.
The India Today-Axis My India poll projects the UDF to secure 70 to 80 seats in the 140-member Assembly, enough to cross the majority mark.
Other agencies such as Jan Ki Baat and ABP-CVoter indicate a tighter contest, but the overall trend suggests the Congress-led alliance has gained momentum and could challenge the Left front after the final count.
Assam Exit Polls Favour BJP Return
In Assam, most exit polls indicate that the BJP-led NDA is set to retain power with a comfortable majority.
Axis My India projects the NDA at 88 to 100 seats in the 126-member Assembly, while Congress and its allies are expected to secure between 24 and 36 seats.
Other agencies like P-MARQ and JVC have also projected a strong performance for the NDA, suggesting that the BJP’s hold over Assam remains firm.
Tamil Nadu Heads for Intense Contest
Tamil Nadu appears headed for a closely fought battle, with exit polls divided over whether the DMK-led alliance or the AIADMK-led front has the upper hand.
Several agencies project the DMK alliance ahead, while others suggest the AIADMK could stage a surprise. The projections also indicate that Vijay’s TVK may emerge as a significant third force in the state.
The mixed projections suggest that Tamil Nadu could deliver one of the most dramatic verdicts on counting day.
Puducherry Trends Favour NRC Alliance
In Puducherry, exit polls indicate that the NRC-led alliance may be in a strong position to form the government.
Most agencies project the alliance to secure a majority in the 30-member Assembly, while the Congress-led bloc is expected to trail.
These numbers suggest that the political equations in the Union Territory may remain in favour of the NRC alliance.
Counting Day Now in Focus
With counting scheduled for May 4, the exit poll trends have set the stage for an intense political showdown across all five states.
While Assam appears to favour the BJP and Kerala hints at a Congress edge, the final verdict in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu remains uncertain, making counting day crucial for all major parties.
