In a shocking crime that has sent shockwaves through Haryana, Congress worker Himani Narwal was brutally murdered in Rohtak, with new details exposing a gruesome act of betrayal. Police have arrested the accused, identified as Sachin, who allegedly strangled Narwal with a mobile charger after an argument on February 28.
Murder, Betrayal, and a Sinister Cover-Up
According to Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Krishan Kumar Rao, Sachin had been in touch with Himani through social media for over 1.5 years and had been frequently visiting her house in Rohtak’s Vijay Nagar over the last six months. On the night of February 27, he stayed at her residence, but an argument the next day took a deadly turn.
During the altercation, Sachin tied Himani’s hands with her dupatta and strangled her with a mobile charger. He then stuffed her body into a suitcase, along with a bloodstained quilt, before stealing her mobile phone, laptop, and jewelry, which he later hid at his shop in Jhajjar.
In a twisted attempt to mislead the investigation, Sachin used Himani’s scooty to transport the stolen items and later dumped the suitcase with her body near Sampla bus stand, after dragging it in an auto-rickshaw. The horrific crime was captured on CCTV, helping police trace the suspect and crack the case.
Family Demands Justice, Mother Rejects Money Dispute Theory
Himani’s heartbroken family cremated her body on March 4, after initially refusing to do so until justice was served. Her brother has demanded the strictest punishment for the accused.
However, her mother, Savita Narwal, has rejected the police’s claims that the murder happened over money, raising serious questions.
“My daughter did not have close friendships with anyone. If he killed her, how can he be called a friend? The main reason should be told to us. I am not satisfied with the police action. I want the accused to get the death penalty,” she demanded.
