Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday confirmed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a two-day official visit to Israel from February 25 to 26, signalling a renewed push to deepen bilateral engagement.
Netanyahu made the announcement while addressing the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, where he highlighted the growing strategic convergence between the two nations.
“Who’s coming here next week? Narendra Modi,” Netanyahu said, drawing applause from the audience. He added that preparations are underway for high-level meetings and a possible parliamentary engagement during the visit.
Calling India a “tremendously important partner,” the Israeli leader underlined the scale and global influence of the country. “India is not a small country. It has 1.4 billion people. India is enormously powerful, enormously influential,” he remarked, stressing that discussions would span multiple areas of cooperation.
