If you are planning to visit Prayagraj for the last Amrit Snan at Triveni Sangam during Maha Shivratri, be prepared for major travel disruptions. Indian Railways has canceled 174 trains to manage the anticipated surge in passengers. Out of these, 32 trains between February 25 and 28—including regular and Kumbh Special trains via Dhanbad, Gomoh, and Bokaro—will not operate.
Ticket Bookings Halted for Major Trains
Several important trains, including the Purushottam Express, Nandan Kanan Express, and Kalka-Howrah Netaji Express, have had their ticket bookings halted between February 25 and 28. While reservations for other trains are still open, officials have hinted that additional cancellations might be announced soon.
