At least 15 people were killed and several others sustained injuries after a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus collided head-on with a gravel-laden tipper lorry near Mirzaguda village in Chevella, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, early Monday morning.

According to police, the tragic accident took place around 5 a.m. when the TSRTC bus, which had started its journey from Tandur to Hyderabad, rammed into a tipper truck coming from the opposite direction. The impact was so severe that several passengers were killed on the spot, while others were rushed to nearby hospitals with serious injuries.

“A road accident occurred between a TGSRTC bus and a truck near Khanapur Gate, under the Chevella police station limits in Rangareddy district. Several passengers are injured, and more details are yet to be known. This incident happened early this morning. We reached the spot, and more details will be provided later,” ANI quoted Chevella Police as saying.

Rescue teams and local authorities immediately rushed to the site to assist in relief operations. Police said efforts were underway to identify the deceased and contact their families.

Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims. In an official statement, he said he had spoken to TSRTC Managing Director Nagi Reddy and the Rangareddy District Collector, directing them to ensure the best possible medical care for the injured.

The minister further instructed TSRTC officials to reach the accident spot without delay and personally supervise rescue and relief efforts. “Every effort should be made to provide immediate assistance and necessary treatment to the victims,” he said.
