Amid the ongoing political storm over alleged misuse of government properties, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vijender Gupta on Tuesday demanded that properties merged into ‘Sheesh Mahal’—the former residence of ex-Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal—be disintegrated.
Gupta accused Kejriwal of combining at least 10 government-allotted properties, originally meant for Delhi officials, to create an extravagant 50,000-square-yard residence. He called the move an "unjustified misuse" of state resources.
"I have demanded that the properties merged in the Sheesh Mahal should be disintegrated. At least 10 properties allotted for Delhi government officials were merged into the premises. Arvind Kejriwal turned it into a property of 50,000 gajj from 10,000 gajj. We have demanded that LG disintegrate these properties," Gupta told ANI.
As political tensions escalate between the BJP and AAP after the Delhi Assembly elections, Gupta also targeted Kejriwal’s leadership, calling AAP a "sinking ship."
"Kejriwal is holding meetings to keep his people together, but it won’t last. The party is on the verge of collapse," he added.
