The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has secured a clear victory in the Kerala Assembly elections, marking a significant political shift after a decade of Left rule. Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi welcomed the outcome, calling it a strong endorsement of the alliance’s vision and efforts.
In a message shared publicly, Gandhi expressed gratitude to the people of the state, stating, “Thank you to my brothers and sisters in Kerala for a truly decisive mandate. Congratulations to every UDF leader and worker for a hard-fought, well-run campaign.” He added that the new government would focus on unlocking the state’s potential, saying Kerala now has leadership committed to turning its talent into progress.
The UDF’s win in the 140-member Assembly signals a return to power after ten years, displacing the incumbent Left Democratic Front (LDF). The results reflect a shift in voter sentiment, with the Congress-led alliance gaining ground across regions and consolidating support.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also thanked voters for their support, emphasising accountability and commitment. In her message, she said, “The trust you have placed in us will guide our work as we strive to build a better future with honesty and humility.” She highlighted the strong performance in Wayanad, where the alliance secured all seats, calling it a renewed expression of public confidence.
She further acknowledged the efforts of party workers, praising their role in taking the alliance’s message to the grassroots level. According to her, the victory is the result of sustained engagement with voters and a focus on inclusive development.
The UDF’s return to power is expected to reshape the political landscape in Kerala, with the new government likely to prioritise governance reforms, economic growth, and welfare delivery. As celebrations continue among party ranks, the focus now shifts to translating the electoral mandate into policy and performance over the coming years.
