Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday highlighted significant strides in the capital's public health infrastructure, while also criticizing the inaction of the previous government. Speaking at an inauguration event, she revealed that 33 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and 17 Jan Aushadhi Kendras have been launched across Delhi to enhance healthcare accessibility and affordability.

Gupta emphasized that five years ago, the central government had allocated ₹2,400 crore to the Delhi government, directing them to strengthen health facilities and provide free medical testing for residents. However, she noted that no concrete steps were taken at the time to meet these objectives.

Upon assuming office, Gupta said her administration prioritized the neglected health infrastructure goals. The inauguration of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and Jan Aushadhi Kendras marks a significant leap in delivering primary healthcare and subsidized medicines to the people of Delhi.

The Ayushman Arogya Mandirs aim to offer basic diagnostics, doctor consultations, and awareness programs, while Jan Aushadhi Kendras provide essential medicines at affordable prices under the government’s flagship scheme.
