With the Delhi Assembly elections underway on February 5, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has made all necessary arrangements for smooth polling across 70 constituencies. Voting began at 7:00 AM and will continue until 6:00 PM.

To cast their vote, citizens must ensure their names are listed in the electoral roll. While the Voter ID card is the primary document, those who have lost it or haven’t received it can still vote using one of 12 alternative identity documents approved by the ECI.

12 Acceptable Documents for Voting

Voters without a Voter ID card can present any of the following:

  • Aadhaar Card
  • PAN Card
  • Unique Disability ID (UDID)
  • Service ID Card (for government employees)
  • Post Office or Bank Passbook
  • Health Insurance Smart Card (issued by the Labour Ministry)
  • Driving License
  • Passport
  • Smart Card under National Population Register (NPR)
  • Pension Card
  • MGNREGA Job Card
  • Official ID Card for MPs, MLAs, or MLCs

Voters are advised to check their registration status on the ECI website (eci.gov.in) and carry a valid identity document to avoid inconvenience at polling stations.
