In a recent Delhi Jal Board meeting, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted the pressing water-related challenges the city faces every summer. She emphasized that water scarcity, sewer system maintenance, and the ongoing cleaning of the Yamuna are interconnected issues that need urgent attention.
"The biggest challenge for Delhi every summer is water-related issues. Additionally, the sewer system across Delhi needs to be maintained, and Yamuna cleaning – these all are interconnected issues that we must address for a better, cleaner, and more sustainable future," said Gupta.
To address these challenges, the Delhi government has implemented several strategic initiatives, including the installation of GPS technology to monitor the scheduling of water tankers. Gupta explained, "We have installed GPS and started monitoring the scheduling of tankers through the Command and Control Center. It’s a center through which people’s complaints are addressed promptly, ensuring their requirements are met."
