Bhojpuri superstar Khesari Lal Yadav, one of the most beloved faces of the Bhojpuri film industry, has officially stepped into the political arena ahead of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. Known for his blockbuster hits and massive fan following, Khesari filed his nomination papers as the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate from the Chhapra Assembly constituency in Bihar’s Saran district.
Just a day before filing his nomination, Khesari — accompanied by his wife Chanda Yadav — joined the RJD and received his membership from senior party leaders. His entry into politics has created a buzz not only among Bhojpuri fans but also in political circles, as the actor aims to leverage his stardom to connect with people and bring “real change” to the ground.
According to his affidavit submitted to the Election Commission, Khesari Lal Yadav declared ownership of a luxury car worth nearly ₹3 crore, gold jewellery valued at approximately ₹35 lakh, and cash holdings of ₹5 lakh. His wife Chanda Yadav’s name also appears in the declaration, listing movable assets worth around ₹90 lakh and immovable properties valued at over ₹6.49 crore.
While exact details of Khesari Lal Yadav’s total net worth are yet to be officially disclosed, sources suggest that the actor’s financial standing — built from years of success in films, music albums, and live shows — might surprise many once revealed.
The Bihar Assembly elections are set to be held in two phases — November 6 and November 11, 2025, with results to be declared on November 14. The Chhapra Assembly seat, from where Khesari is contesting, will go to polls in the first phase on November 6.
