A major fire broke out on Saturday, October 18, at Brahmaputra Apartments, located near the Parliament in New Delhi, engulfing several flats reportedly allotted to Rajya Sabha members of parliament.

According to officials, the blaze erupted at the multi-storey residential complex on BD Marg. Six fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the site to bring the fire under control. Senior authorities also rushed to supervise the firefighting operation, which is currently ongoing.

Online visuals from the scene show massive flames and thick smoke rising from the building. Preliminary reports indicate that the bottom two floors of the apartment complex have sustained significant damage.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities are investigating the incident. So far, there have been no reports of injuries, and the full extent of property damage is yet to be determined.
