In light of escalating violence along the Thailand-Cambodia border, the Indian Embassy in Bangkok has issued a travel advisory urging Indian nationals to avoid visiting seven conflict-affected provinces in eastern Thailand. The warning comes amid a surge in armed skirmishes between Thai and Cambodian forces in long-disputed territories.
The advisory, issued Friday morning, specifically cautioned against non-essential travel to Ubon Ratchathani, Surin, Sisaket, Buriram, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat provinces, citing “unpredictable security conditions and active military operations.”
“In view of the current situation near the Thailand-Cambodia border, all Indian travelers are strongly advised to remain alert and stay updated through official Thai sources, including the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and local media,” the embassy said in a statement.
