Political strategist-turned-activist and Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor launched a scathing critique of the NDA leadership on Thursday, demanding clarity from Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the future leadership of Bihar. Speaking at a press event, Kishor questioned the lack of official endorsement of Nitish Kumar as the Chief Ministerial face of the NDA ahead of the 2025 Assembly elections.

“If Nitish Kumar is the face of NDA, then Narendra Modi or Amit Shah should announce it. PM Modi merely said he is the ‘beloved CM’ of Bihar — he didn’t say he will remain CM post-2025. Let them declare it, and the public will decide who is beloved and who is not,” Kishor said, intensifying the political suspense around the NDA's leadership in Bihar.

The former advisor to several national leaders and now a vocal critic of both the BJP and JDU alliance, Prashant Kishor accused the Centre of failing Bihar, referencing the Rs 1.25 lakh crore package promised by PM Modi during the 2015 Assembly polls.

“The people of Bihar want to know — what happened to the Rs 1.25 lakh crore package? Was it never sent, or was it looted here by ministers and officers of the NDA government?” he asked pointedly.

Highlighting persistent issues such as unemployment, lack of infrastructure, and mass migration, Kishor urged Prime Minister Modi to devote focused attention to Bihar’s challenges.

“When will the Prime Minister take out even a single day to seriously address Bihar’s problems — to talk about jobs, migration, education, and basic development? Why is Bihar always at the bottom despite tall promises?” he questioned.

Kishor’s remarks come at a time when Bihar's political future remains uncertain, with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar having switched alliances multiple times, and NDA yet to declare its clear roadmap for the 2025 elections.
