Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde once again demonstrated his compassionate leadership on Wednesday when he halted his convoy on the Eastern Express Highway near Vikhroli to assist victims of a rickshaw accident. Known for his hands-on approach and empathetic demeanor, CM Shinde was en route from Thane to attend the legislative session when he noticed the crash.
Upon spotting the overturned rickshaw and injured passengers, CM Shinde immediately instructed his convoy to stop. He personally intervened to ensure prompt medical assistance for the injured individuals. In a statement shared via social media, CM Shinde expressed his concern, stating, "While leaving Thane this morning for the legislative session, I noticed a rickshaw accident near Vikhroli. I stopped my convoy and inquired about the injured persons. We swiftly arranged for them to be taken to the nearest hospital in an ambulance from our convoy."
This act of responsiveness and humanitarianism is not unfamiliar to CM Shinde's tenure. Just earlier this month, on July 1st, while traveling to Vidhan Bhavan, CM Shinde came across a distressing scene involving two Jain sadhvis (Jain female monks) whose vehicle had been involved in an accident near Ghatkopar's Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar. CM Shinde took immediate action, ensuring that the injured sadhvis received medical attention without delay.
