The Maharashtra government is gearing up for the grand Nashik Kumbh Mela 2027 by proposing a dedicated law to streamline preparations and ensure smooth execution of the massive religious gathering. State Minister Girish Mahajan revealed that the government is planning to introduce an act similar to the one implemented by the Uttar Pradesh government for the Kumbh Mela.
"We want to bring in an act for Kumbh Mela, just like the UP government, to ensure that all arrangements progress efficiently and at a fast pace. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held a crucial meeting today on this matter, and we will introduce the act in the upcoming Assembly session," Mahajan stated.
The meeting, chaired by CM Fadnavis, focused on key aspects such as transportation, drinking water supply, healthcare facilities, and crowd management. With millions of devotees expected to attend, the government is prioritizing safety and cleanliness.

The Nashik Kumbh Mela, held every 12 years, is one of the largest religious congregations in India, drawing devotees, saints, and tourists from across the world. The government’s initiative to introduce a legal framework is expected to enhance planning, infrastructure, and security measures to accommodate the massive influx of pilgrims.
