'Private Schools Wanted AAP Out, BJP In': Saurabh Bharadwaj Slams Fee Hikes, Govt Silence

Delhi AAP chief and senior leader Saurabh Bharadwaj on Monday launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led government in the capital over the recent surge in private school fees, calling it a “clear conflict of interest” and accusing the administration of siding with private school lobbies.

“As soon as the BJP government has been formed, news is coming from many places that some private school has increased the fees by 60%, some by 40%, some by 25%,” Bharadwaj said at a press conference. “Parents are protesting in schools, and the government is sitting silent.”

The AAP leader further claimed that it was only after his party raised the issue publicly that the BJP government took note. However, he added that no decisive action has yet been taken to reverse the hikes or offer relief to affected parents.

“When we held a press conference, the government woke up and till now the government has not passed any order that the increased fees of the schools will be returned to the parents,” he said. “Till now, that order stands…”

Bharadwaj emphasized that during Arvind Kejriwal's tenure as Chief Minister, private schools were strictly regulated and not allowed to impose arbitrary fee hikes.

“As long as Arvind Kejriwal's government was there, private schools were kept under control and the private schools wanted that the AAP govt should go and the BJP government should come. It is clearly a conflict of interest. We have proved it today,” he added.
