Rahul Gandhi Reads NGO Speeches, TMC Shields Infiltrators': Amit Shah In Lok Sabha On Immigration Bill

na

In a fiery debate over the Immigration and Foreigners Bill, 2025, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took aim at the opposition, accusing the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Congress of facilitating illegal immigration. Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Shah alleged that Bangladeshi infiltrators and Rohingyas are now entering India through West Bengal, just as they once did through Assam under Congress rule.

"Whether Bangladeshi infiltrators or Rohingyas, earlier they used to enter India through Assam when Congress was in power. Now they enter India through West Bengal where TMC is in power. Who issues them Aadhaar cards, citizenship?… All the Bangladeshis who have been caught have Aadhaar cards from 24 Parganas district. You (TMC) issue Aadhaar cards and they come to Delhi with voter cards… In 2026, the BJP government will be formed in West Bengal and we will put an end to this," Shah declared.

"Rahul Gandhi Relies on NGO Data, Reads Their Speeches": Shah
Taking a jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Shah accused him of relying on NGO data instead of government reports.

"…Since Rahul Gandhi has become a leader of the INDI alliance, he looks for the data issued by NGOs apart from the government. Sometimes, he reads speeches written by NGOs," Shah remarked.

"TMC Hindering Border Security, Protecting Infiltrators"
Shah also slammed the West Bengal government for allegedly obstructing border security measures.

"…The fencing work of 450 km is pending because the West Bengal government is not giving land for it… Whenever the process of fencing is done, the ruling party workers indulge in hooliganism and religious sloganeering. The fencing work of 450 km of border has not been completed because the West Bengal government is showing mercy to the infiltrators," he stated.

BJP's 2026 Bengal Target: "We Will End This"
Shah reiterated that the BJP is determined to put an end to illegal immigration in West Bengal and assured that once the party forms a government in 2026, strict actions will be taken.
