Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday delivered a strong message to Pakistan, asserting that every part of the neighbouring country now falls within the range of India’s BrahMos missiles. His remarks came during the inaugural ceremony of the first batch of BrahMos missiles manufactured at the BrahMos Aerospace unit in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking at the event, Rajnath Singh praised the armed forces for their success in Operation Sindoor, describing it as merely a “trailer” of India’s military capabilities. He hailed the BrahMos as a testament to India’s indigenous defence strength, saying, “Operation Sindoor has proven that victory is no longer a minor incident for us. Victory has become our habit… The country is confident that our adversaries will no longer be able to escape BrahMos. Every inch of Pakistani territory is now within the reach of our BrahMos.”
He further emphasized the missile’s strategic significance, stating, “BrahMos is not just a missile, but a symbol of India's growing indigenous capabilities. This combination of speed, accuracy, and power makes BrahMos one of the world's best missiles.” The defence minister also referred to BrahMos as the “backbone” of the Indian armed forces.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath joined the event, highlighting the missile program as a milestone in India’s self-reliance in defence. “BrahMos missiles represent self-reliance in India's defence needs. This shows that India is not only capable of securing its own territory but can also support the defence requirements of friendly nations,” he said.
Adityanath also underscored the contribution of the BrahMos manufacturing unit to the ‘Make in India’ initiative and employment generation. “By flagging off the first batch of BrahMos missiles produced in Lucknow, we are fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘atmanirbharta’ (self-reliance). Over 2,500 acres of land have been developed across six nodes, providing employment to more than 15,000 youth in Uttar Pradesh,” he added.
