As tensions escalate along the India-Pakistan border following recent military confrontations, Rajasthan’s border districts of Barmer, Sri Ganganagar, and Jodhpur have issued a Red Alert, urging all citizens to immediately return to their homes and suspend all outdoor activities.
In Barmer, District Collector Tina Dabi issued a stern directive, stating:
“All residents are ordered to immediately return to their homes. Markets must be closed, and all public movement is to cease with immediate effect. Authorities have been directed to ensure strict enforcement of these orders. This is an urgent notice.”
Similar emergency measures have been enforced in Sri Ganganagar, where the district administration declared a complete lockdown, restricting civilian movement across the district.
“The district administration and police have appealed to all residents to fully comply with official instructions and extend complete cooperation,” the order stated.
In Jodhpur, the administration followed suit, releasing a brief but urgent advisory:
“Markets to be closed and all movement to be stopped.”
Security forces have been deployed in sensitive zones, and drones are being used to monitor compliance. Schools, government offices, and public transport have been temporarily suspended in the affected areas.
