In a sharp critique of Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray?s current visit to New Delhi, Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske has accused Thackeray of seeking personal political gains rather than focusing on Maharashtra?s issues. Mhaske?s comments come amid Thackeray?s ongoing tour of the national capital, where he has been meeting with various political figures and discussing strategic matters.
Mhaske, known for his outspoken stance, questioned the purpose of Thackeray?s visit, suggesting that it was driven by a desire to secure the Chief Minister's position in Maharashtra rather than addressing pressing state matters. ?Uddhav Thackeray has come to Delhi to plead for the (Maharashtra) CM post,? Mhaske stated. He further criticized Thackeray for failing to meet with Congress leader Sonia Gandhi during his trip, noting, ?He was supposed to meet Sonia Gandhi but he hasn?t met her yet. This means Sonia Gandhi might not have given him time yet.?
Mhaske?s remarks highlight a growing tension within Shiv Sena and its leadership regarding the current political strategy. He contrasted Thackeray?s visit with the practices of the past, recalling that previous leaders, including the late Balasaheb Thackeray, were visited by political figures at Matoshree, the Thackeray family?s residence. ?Earlier, all leaders used to come to Matoshree to meet Balasaheb Thackeray, but he (Uddhav Thackeray) had to visit Delhi,? Mhaske pointed out.

Thackeray?s visit to Delhi has included discussions with various political leaders and strategists as he seeks to advance his party's interests and negotiate political alliances. Despite the strategic nature of the visit, Mhaske?s critique suggests a perception within the party that Thackeray?s actions are more focused on personal political aspirations than on broader party or state concerns.
The tension within Shiv Sena reflects the broader challenges the party faces as it navigates complex political dynamics in Maharashtra and at the national level. Mhaske?s comments add to the ongoing debate about Thackeray?s leadership and the direction of the party?s strategy.
