Three days after a speeding car plowed into two-wheelers in Gujarat's Vadodara, killing one woman and injuring several others, new CCTV footage has emerged showing the accused, 20-year-old law student Rakshit Chauhan, with his friends just moments before the crash.
The footage reveals Chauhan and his friend, Meet Chauhan, at a friend's house before the accident. In another clip, the two arrive at the house on a scooter, with one of them seen drinking from a bottle. However, the exact nature of the liquid remains unknown.
Approximately 45 minutes later, Chauhan and his friends are seen leaving the house. The car involved in the accident is visible in the footage, parked outside the residence. One clip captures Chauhan sitting in the driver’s seat before shifting to the passenger seat upon his friend’s request.

The fatal crash occurred around 12:30 am on March 14 near Muktanand crossroads in the Karelibaug area. Eyewitnesses stated that the car took a sudden sharp turn at high speed before colliding with two-wheelers. The accident’s video quickly went viral, with footage showing Chauhan acting erratically, shouting phrases like “another round, another round”, followed by a girl’s name, “Nikita, Nikita, Nikita Meri”, and then chanting “Om Namah Shivay”.
Despite the evidence, Chauhan denied being intoxicated, blaming the accident on a pothole. He claimed he was driving at “50 km/hr” and that his view was obstructed by an emergency airbag.
