In a fierce response to Haryana's demands over water sharing, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has asserted that there is no dispute over the state's water resources. He said, "There is no dispute regarding water. The data is in favour of Punjab. Haryana is asking for more than its share of water. The only logic they (Haryana) are giving is that earlier, too, they had been getting water (more than their share)."
Mann emphasized that Punjab has made significant improvements to its canal systems but is still unable to provide excess water. "We don't have surplus water," he added, challenging Haryana's demands as unjustified. This statement has intensified the ongoing water-sharing debate, as both states grapple over resources crucial for agriculture and daily consumption.
