'Who Made Trump The Chaudhary?': Sanjay Raut Slams US Interference, Cites Simla Agreement

In a fiery political statement that reignited the debate over foreign involvement in regional conflicts, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut lashed out at former US President Donald Trump for reportedly trying to mediate between India and Pakistan during heightened tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack.

“Who gave President Trump the right to interfere in the war? Read the Simla Agreement – it clearly states that it's a matter between two nations only. No third nation will intervene,” Raut said while addressing reporters in Mumbai on Monday.

The senior opposition leader mocked Trump’s supposed intervention during the recent Indo-Pak flare-up that followed India’s Operation Sindoor — a military campaign launched in response to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 that claimed 26 lives.

“Who made President Trump the Sarpanch? Did we make him Chaudhary? Our armed forces are capable, even when our political leadership is weak,” Raut remarked, in a sharp jibe aimed not only at the former US president but also implicitly questioning the current Indian leadership.

Raut emphasized that India does not require validation or oversight from any foreign power when responding to terrorism. “India’s military has proven time and again that we are capable of defending our sovereignty. Be it Kargil, Uri, Balakot, or now Operation Sindoor — we’ve never waited for anyone’s permission,” he said.
