‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Owaisi Should Be Suspended’: Posters Pasted Outside AIMIM Chief’s Delhi Home; ‘This Does Not Scare Me’, Retorts Leader

As the news spreads, it has drawn condemnation from various quarters, with many calling for stricter security protocols for elected representatives

In a shocking incident that has raised concerns about the safety of elected representatives, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s residence in Delhi was vandalized by a group of unidentified miscreants on Thursday evening. The attackers threw black ink at the house and pasted posters demanding Owaisi’s suspension from the Lok Sabha.

Owaisi, known for his outspoken nature and often controversial statements, took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express his frustration and demand action. “Some ‘unknown miscreants’ vandalized my house with black ink today. I have now lost count of the number of times my Delhi residence has been targeted,” he wrote, highlighting the recurring nature of such incidents.

The AIMIM leader didn’t mince words as he called out the attackers, challenging them to face him directly instead of resorting to what he termed “Savarkar-type cowardly behavior.” Owaisi’s reference to Savarkar, a controversial figure in Indian history, added a political dimension to his statement.

In a direct appeal to Home Minister Amit Shah and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Owaisi questioned the security measures in place for Members of Parliament. “Amit Shah, this is happening under your oversight. Om Birla, please tell us if MPs’ safety will be guaranteed or not,” he demanded, underlining the gravity of the situation.

The incident has sparked a wider debate about the safety of political figures, especially those from minority communities or with controversial political stances. Bahadurpura AIMIM MLA Mohammad Mubeen claimed that the miscreants chanted “Jai Siya Ram” while vandalizing Owaisi’s house, potentially adding a communal angle to the attack.

According to police reports, a group of five men were involved in the incident. They not only threw ink but also pasted posters outside Owaisi’s residence with slogans like ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, ‘I stand with Israel’, and ‘Owaisi should be suspended’. The mention of Israel in the posters suggests that the attack might be linked to Owaisi’s stance on the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.

Law enforcement authorities have assured that they are working to identify the culprits and promised legal action against those responsible. However, the incident raises questions about the effectiveness of existing security measures for political leaders, especially in the national capital.

As the news spreads, it has drawn condemnation from various quarters, with many calling for stricter security protocols for elected representatives. The incident also highlights the increasing polarization in Indian politics and the potential dangers faced by leaders who take controversial stands on sensitive issues.

Owaisi, for his part, remains defiant. “To the two-bit goons who keep targeting my house: this does not scare me,” he declared, vowing to continue his political activities undeterred by such attacks. As the investigation unfolds, many will be watching closely to see how authorities respond to this brazen attack on a Member of Parliament in the heart of the national capital.
