Bihar Assembly Election Dates Likely After October 6, ECI Prepares For Poll Announcement

The Election Commission of India (ECI) is gearing up to formally announce the Bihar Assembly election schedule shortly after October 6, following the completion of mandatory government officer transfers and postings across the state.

Officials said that once the transfer exercise concludes, the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) will visit Bihar to review the state’s preparedness, setting the stage for the official declaration of dates. The announcement will trigger the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), imposing restrictions on government projects, postings, and transfers until the elections conclude.
